Final Fantasy XIII Finally Gets A US & European Release Date

null

Turns out my wishes were answered and Square Enix (SE) has finally given us a solid release date for both the US and European versions of Final Fantasy XIII (FFXIII). It will be launching in both territories on March 9, 2010. This is good news as it is only 4 months away, however I’m not nearly as excited as I thought I would be. Hell, it is only 3 months after the Japanese release date which I think makes it the fastest time between releasing in different regions for a FF game. That is something that SE should be commended for. However I still feel like this game is 1-2 years overdue. By the time it comes out it will be around 5 years since it was announced. Hell, I was hoping we’d be past FFXIII and talking about FF Versus XIII already. Hopefully the game itself won’t let me down like the development cycle has. Anyway, another thing to note is that on the 13th of every month SE will be releasing new information about the US & European version of FFXIII along with updating the website. I guess this is just a way to start building hype for the game, and I’m sure it will work for some people. For me, it just feels a little too late. I know I’ll get more exited as the actual release approaches, but with so many games coming out around the same time I wonder how much time I’ll have to devote to FFXIII.
